A very interesting piece of breeding from our friends in the US. milleri, cordigera on one side & a real loose parent, as Dad with 14 , yes 14 different species in its background, granulosa, dowiana  & digbyana  being prime contributors. The total, with 16

2562     *Slc GOLDEN TREAT  X Bc SUNNY DELIGHT ‘MAJ’  

‘’MAJ’ a twelve flower + count, parents B. perinni and C. aurantiaca. Both are temp. tolerant grows like brassavola and blooms are rich yellow stars held in clusters. L.c. Golden Treat should add richer reds and orange colors to the mix and improve flower size and count. 2567   C. labiata SEMI – ALBA var. AMESIANA X SELF

Another of our Brazilian connection beauties. labiata  originates from the Organ Mountains about 100kms north of Rio de Janeiro, almost extinct in that location now. Prefers ample light & water in the summer, with drier conditions in winter. Var.     Amesiana is a recognized semi Alba form amongst the many varietal forms available. 2621   *Cattlianthe HOT SAUCE   -   (L.c. ROJO X L. anceps ‘MALVERN’)

Interesting cross from our friends in Long Beach California. An almost fire engine red, hint of orange cluster of blooms crossed

with an outstanding L. anceps in ‘Malvern’ &  is one of the finest alba’s around , 3 bulbs sold for $US700.00 earlier this decade. One thing for sure, the flowers will be clear of the foliage. Flower count expected is about 8 to 10 Colour, well soft red/orange, maybe even stronger fire engine red, Lip a cracker Cool grower.         50mm TUBES  $15.00

According to our Brazilian friends this is a natural Hybrid between nobilor and walkeriana, but has been given specific status. What we can tell you is by Googling to www.flickr.com/search/?q=mesquitae&w=all , You get 14 pictures of this beauty ranging from deep to soft lilac some with a real blue hue, typically walkeriana shape, two – three flowers and flat as the proverbial. 2639  C. dolosa   X SELF   (SOME SAY delosa)   

Brazilian bifoliate first described in 1876, grows as a lithophyte in Minas Gerais & blooms in the spring and/or autumn. Easy to please, easy to bloom. Considered natural hybrid between C walkeriana & C loddigesii it has not been able to be duplicated artificially. Vigorous plants with thick, fast growing roots. Grow them in wooden baskets full of coarse bark or pots. Carries  2, narrowly elliptic or elliptic oblong, obtuse or rounded apically leaves. Blooms on a terminal, 1 to 3 5/8" [to 9 cm] single to few-

flowered inflorescences, fragrant, heavy-textured flowers. What more can we say.              VERY LIMITED 50mm TUBES

All you species persons, two very select forms of easy to grow Cattleya unifoliate species. Would be the longest lasting of the Cattleya species when in flower, one of the hardiest & are growing well. Brazilian epiphytic /lithophytic warm to cool growing, miniature orchid from Minas Gerais State, found on trees or in humus pockets on the rocks below them in drier cool winter mountain habitats in scrub at elevations of 1220 to 2000 meters where their water comes mainly from the cloud cap on the high mountains at night & condensation with sulcate, globose to cylindrical pseudobulbs,  arranged in two ranks along the rhizome & carry a single, apical, erect, stiff, leathery, leaf that blooms on a terminal, short, solitary to 3 flowered inflorescence occurring late autumn in cultivation & the spring in Brazil, Blooms vary in size 4 – 7.5mm also  in colour from soft pink/red to deep pink /red.                                       LIMITED 50mm TUBES @ $12.00
