Welcome to the Down Under Native Orchids 2008 Website. The
site has been updated with the 2008 Catalogue, some new products, pictures in
the Heroes File as well as the odd usual and unusual ‘very interesting
picture’. We specialise in line breeding select species and the breeding of quality hybrids in the field of Dendrobium, and from the Sarcanthinae Group. We are always on the lookout for 'other' quality goodies from home and overseas to offer to you our customer, this year is certainly no exception. You will see these as you journey through our extensive catalogue via our DUNO navigator. 2007 has been another of those eventful years, to say the least, lots of shows to exhibit our new crosses, & our top line parents. We continue to receive numerous positive comments regarding the quality of our plants & breeding, from an ever-increasing customer base. This confirms to us that we have a growing group of very happy Aussie Native Orchid lovers. Our Results Tab shows details for 2007. Briefly. ‘Biggest We hope that the new
parents & excellent crosses we are offering this year, are to your liking,
& look forward to your custom. Note that as well divisions of our
Dockrillia’s, we’ve added divisions, all be it not large, of some of
our show/ breeding Speciosums, Tropicools, kingianums & ‘Colds’, in
limited quantities, so be early in placing your orders. Due to the
ever-increasing cost of producing & sending our “Colour” Catalogues,
this will be our final colour effort. Those of you who have enjoyed looking at
the pictures of our parent plants, Trophy winners, first flowered seedlings
etc., they will be made available here on our Website and at Shows. In
2009 the mail out catalogue will be in Black & White and we can inform you
that we hope to have new &
exciting Dockrillia Hybrids for you in 2009 and on into 2010, whilst reducing
other areas of production. We hope our vivid descriptions will help you decide. My personal health (Brian) in 2007 has played havoc with continued work in the laboratory, thus we have had no choice but to scale down our hybridizing program & limit flask work. Whilst being a Vietnam veteran, I might say that, age does weary you, especially in the fine motor areas, that guy Arthur Ritus, (both hands), has raised his ugly head. We will endeavor to present to you the best we can produce with our quality awarded parents & others, and hope to maintain our position in the Aussie Native Hybrids & Species field that you have been accustomed, and continue to indulge in that quality. You will note we
have no flasks available as such, and for this I apologize, hopefully you will
understand. Any flasks that
MAY become available will be offered at Events & Shows which we
attend. Remember don’t
hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or comments regarding the
catalogue, the Website or your plants.
